Oma's Pride Voluntarily Recalls One Lot of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe (6 Lb Bag)

Dear Pet Parents,

Adam DeJulius here, President & CEO of Oma's Pride, reaching out to share an important update from Oma’s Pride.

Out of an abundance of caution, we're voluntarily recalling one specific lot of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe, 6 lb (Lot BB012729), because it is contaminated with Salmonella.

No other Oma’s Pride products, sizes, or lots are affected.

I’m sharing this with you because I believe our customers deserve to hear directly from us. If you are an impacted customer, you have already received emails from us directly informing you of the issue, along with instructions for disposing of the product and receiving a refund.

We're taking the FDA’s finding seriously and are working collaboratively with them throughout the recall and investigation. We appreciate the role the FDA plays in helping protect the safety of food for both people and animals, and our goal throughout this process is simple: understand what happened, take care of our customers, and continue making our food-safety program stronger.

At the same time, I remain confident in the food we make and in where our food-safety program is today.

Oma’s Pride is a fourth-generation family-owned company with more than 75 years of food manufacturing experience. Our operations are conducted in accordance with applicable FDA and USDA requirements and are supported by a comprehensive food-safety program, including HACCP-based controls, sanitation procedures, traceability and lot-control systems, and ongoing quality and food-safety monitoring.

Over the last decade alone, we estimate that our team has produced nearly 18 million pounds of pet food without another recall. This is only the second recall in our company’s history, with the previous one occurring more than ten years ago.

I don’t share that to minimize this situation. I share it because I think context matters. Food safety has been taken seriously here for generations, and that history is exactly why we are taking this finding seriously now.

Oma’s Pride carries the name of our family matriarch, Margaret “Oma” Miller. My brother Nick and I have the privilege and responsibility of carrying forward what Oma and the generations after her built, including our grandmother Sandi, Aunt Cal, our mother Capri, and the rest of our family.

We know we represent more than just ourselves when we put the Oma’s Pride name on a product.

A strong track record doesn’t mean we stop looking for ways to improve. Once we work through the immediate recall, we will thoroughly evaluate our food-safety program, our kill step, our procedures, and our controls. If there are things we can make better, we will.

The voluntary recall involves only Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe, 6 lb bag, Lot BB012729, Manufactured 1/27/2026, Best-by 1/27/2029. No other Oma’s Pride products, sizes, or lots are affected.

This recall is being conducted voluntarily and in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
