How Much Do I Feed My Pet? How To Guide
Method 1: Use A Feeding Calculator
Deciding how much to feed your pet can be overwhelming with calculations. However, we make it easy with our Feeding Calculator!
Use the calculator to get an estimate of how many ounces, cups, and pounds of food your cat or dog should eat each day, depending on their activity level and weight goals.
Method 2: Calculate Yourself
How much you feed your pet will depend on a few factors, including age, activity level, and more.
The best way to calculate how much to feed specifically is to first determine what your cat or dog’s daily caloric needs are. This will allow you to determine, based on what protein you’re feeding, how much to feed.
Did you know? Each protein contains a different number of calories per ounce. This will impact feeding quantity. For example, Woof Beef contains 52 calories per ounce, while Woof Chicken contains 41 calories per ounce.

EXAMPLE: 50 LB DOG
22.7 kg x 30 + 70 = 751 calories
In other words, a 50 lb dog will need 751 calories per day or around 376 calories per meal when feeding two meals per day. If this dog eats Woof Beef, it contains 52 calories per ounce.
751 calories needed per day ÷ 52 calories per ounce in Woof Beef = 14.5 oz of Woof Beef per day

EXAMPLE: 10 LB CAT
4.5 kg x 30 + 70 = 205 calories
In other words, a 10 lb cat will need 205 calories per day or around 103 calories per meal when feeding two meals per day. Purr Complete contains 51 calories per ounce.
205 calories needed per day ÷ 51 calories per ounce in Purr Complete = 4 oz of Purr Complete needed per day

Special Note
Please note that many factors can make a pet’s daily caloric needs go up or down. For example, more active pets will need more calories. Puppies and kittens will also need more calories. Elderly, more sedentary pets might need fewer calories than stated above.
